This film based on lesbian content was created by Deepa Mehta, it was shown to the interactions between two sisters!
Due to such a bold subject, the sensor had just banned the film! The lead roles are played by Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das. The movie was succeed by by the movie “Water” and “Fire” in the element trilogy. The movie was the first in Bollywood to address the issue. It is loosely based on “Lihaaf”, Ismat Chughtai’s 1942 story.
